Models & Jocks Presents: ALS In Wonderland

This isn’t a story about someone I met in passing. I didn’t read about this cause on an airplane heading to my next important meeting. This one hits close to home. ALS is a name that I was very unfamiliar with just three years ago. Now, I have made it my life’s mission to bring awareness to this devastating disease, bring hope to patients and their loved ones, and hopefully help find a cure.
In America, nearly 5,600 people are diagnosed annually with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a disease that attacks the nerve cells in the brain & spinal cord. Ultimately, the disease causes the patient to lose voluntary control of their muscles. There have been significant breakthroughs in research and medicine throughout the past two decades, but there is still no cure.
The National ALS Association has consistently raised money to fund research projects aimed at both finding new medicines for patients and providing other beneficial resources during their struggle withthis disease. However, efforts can’t stop there. Progress must continue through you and me. By advocating for this cause to our community and fellow neighbors, there are still many ways we can help offset this devastating disease and hopefully find a cure.

After my father, Richard Blume, was diagnosed with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, I had to make a decision. I moved back to my hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas after 18 years abroad. In my time away, I have built a very successful consulting and fundraising firm that serves the foundations of high profile athletes. My life has been built around creating legacies for others. I possess a passion and generosity in my heart that I seek in others.

As the founder of my fundraising firm, Team Up World, I envisioned a platform to raise awareness and funds for ALS. Models & Jocks Fashion Show was born. May 11, 2013 we will be celebrating our 2nd annual fashion show presenting ‘ALS In Wonderland’. The evening will be an experience unlike anything in Little Rock. The inaugural show was a huge success, and this year is going to be even bigger and better. I want to thank all of our supporters, especially my father, who has always encouraged my every goal and dream. “I give my father credit for my entrepreneurial spirit. It runs deep in my blood.” Join us as we celebrate the 2013 Models & Jocks Fashion Show.

Beautiful Day for a Wedding..

Today my parents were married again under a 150 year old oak tree. They met nearly 33 years ago in Arkansas and have went through many ups and downs. When I was in the 1st grade they went through a divorce. My mother was never with another man Her sole focus was me and my little brother Douglas. Years have passed and many things have changed.

I know that one thing remained the same for them and that was the uncondtional love that they shared for one another.

I love them very much and wish them many more years of happiness together.

“Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself… ‘How did I get through all of that?”

ATHLETES OF THE DECADE GIVE HOPE TO HAITI

Super Bowl XLIV

Miami is Hosting 2010 Super Bowl 44

The long awaited Superbowl is among us! The Superbowl experience is a very exciting time for everyone, but unfortunately our fellow people in Haiti will not have the opportunity to engage in this experience. As we are all aware, thousands of people lost their homes and lives as a result of the 7.3 magnitude earthquake on 12 January 2010. Therefore, it only seems right to collaborate our efforts to set up events, which simultaneously allow us to enjoy the superbowl experience and help those people in Haiti who are desperately in need.

The Sports Immortals Collection provides the perfect opportunity to accomplish this goal. The amazing Sports Immortals collection of sports memorabilia has been created through the lifelong efforts of one man, Joel Platt. This Collection is referred to) by the Smithsonian Institution as “absolutely the greatest collection of all sports.”

Please join us to experience visually these wonderful stories, each of which is illustrated with stunning close-up photos of hundreds of rare, valuable, one-of-a-kind artifacts from the Sports Immortals collection. In addition, by joining us, you will play a vital role in raising money for Haiti Relief Fund through the Red Cross and former Olden Polynice foundation.

Ultimately, the Sports Immortals Museum will leave you breathless, stunned, and, we hope, inspired.
